What: Participating faculty will be working on finishing the Effective Communication Rubric and if time allows, will move on to the next rubrics

Institutional Learning Outcomes Development - Critical Thinking and Effective Communication
This event will be an opportunity for faculty to finish the conversation about Critical Thinking (i.e. finish the Critical Thinking rubric) and to discuss Effective Communication. Those of you who were present at our Jun 2015's "Thinking Critically about Critical Thinking" event, we hope you will be able to join us and others in these important discussions. A separate invitation will be sent.
SPRING 2016 DAYS OF ASSESSMENT Friday, March 20, 2016 And May 8, 2016 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, UCEN 101
This is the first is a series of our Days of Assessment for College of the Canyons hosted by the The Committee for Assessing Student Learning. This interactive workshop will help participants take assessment of learning outcomes from the course level to the program level. The workshop focus is on instructional program student learning outcomes for degrees and certificates. It will include collaborative group work on case study material, as well as small group work on program materials brought by participants. The presentation and discussions will be about applying principles and effective practices of program level assessment of student learning.
A stipend will be provided to all participants. A light breakfast and lunch will also be served.

SUMMER 2015 CRITICAL THINKING WORKSHOP - Friday June 26, 2015, 9:00 am– 2:30 pm
Thinking Critically about Critical Thinking INTERACTIVE AND COLLABORATIVE WORKSHOP - with CSU-East Bay’s Julie Stein
What is Critical Thinking? And how do we know when our students are thinking critically? Please join us for an interactive, collaborative workshop with CSU East Bay’s Instructional Design Specialist, Julie Stein. Participants will explore applications of Critical Thinking within and across disciplines and will have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a unified rubric for evaluating Critical Thinking. This workshop is a continuation of our on-going discussion about College of the Canyon’s proposed Institutional Learning Outcomes and will contribute to the development of our future assessment process.
