College
What is Life After
Community College?
Whether it means continuing one's education,
transitioning to the workforce, moving, getting married, traveling, or
some other significant life experience, much awaits students in the world
upon leaving College of the Canyons.
Why is Life After
Community College important?
There is a whole new world waiting to be explored
once your stay at College of the Canyons has concluded. It is important
to prepare for your transition. Staff is available in various
departments including career services, counseling and the transfer
center to help you explore your options. Don’t wait until you take your
last class at College of the Canyons to plan your next move.
Examples:
Transferring to a university is one option to
pursue during life after community college. There are numerous choices
from the California State University (CSU) and University of California
(UC) systems to private universities both within and outside of the
state. Entering the workforce full-time with the skills and education
one has learned is another avenue that can be explored. Some entry level
jobs exist that require an associates degree or certificate of
completion in a course of study.
