Cindy Smith has been in the kitchen since she was 5 years old.  Her passion and skills were a natural to make a
 
career in cooking.  Cindy is a self-taught chef, reading cookbooks instead of novels, She learned to cut an onion
 
by watching The Galloping Gourmet and created every recipe in Bon Appetit.  She was soon ‘encouraged’ to host
 
dinners at home so that her friends could enjoy the finest meals in the valley.
 
Cindy became a gourmet caterer through word of mouth, as she was asked to prepare the food for dinner
 
parties, events and intimate gatherings.  After many repeated requests, RSVP-The Catering Company was born in
 
1999 and Cindy quickly became the sought after caterer for Santa Clarita.  Cindy regularly, with her art,
 
supported through her culinary donations, Henry Mayo Hospital; Child and Family Center; Boys and Girls Club; College of the Canyons.  Her largest
 
venue was the Michael Hoefflin “Evening Under the Stars” benefit event, where with a staff of 50 provided more than 1,000 dinners for several years. 
 
A member of the Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce and VIA she catered many chamber mixers and VIA events.  She also served on the Board for the
 
International Caterers Association for 2 years, and was a speaker at numerous catering conferences.  Cindy has packed her knives and apron to
 
prepare food all over the world: from lanai to hilltops, yachts to jets, tents to mansions and even Brad Pitt’s BMW test run in a dirt field.
 
Cindy has a 27 year old son, who learned the trade of hospitality, food preparation and management since he was a boy.  He often spent his youth as
 
Cindy’s assistant and continued working for RSVP even while a student at UCSB.  He is currently residing in San Diego as an assistant general manager
 
in a successful downtown San Diego restaurant.
 
Always learning and improving her craft, Cindy chose to move her talents to becoming a personal chef in 2013 and closed the doors on RSVP.  Cindy’s
 
commitment to the finest culinary experience is now the greatest gift for her private clients.  She is committed to learning more and being the best she
 
can be.  Her belief is cooking offers love, comfort and makes lifelong memories.
