|Associate Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies
Michael H. Goodwyn is an educator, writer, actor, and director. At College of the Canyons he teaches Fundamentals of Public Speaking and Small Group Communication. He also teaches Communication at Los Angeles Valley, Los Angeles Mission, and Rio Hondo Colleges. Goodwyn has an undergraduate degree in Communication, Theater, and English, and a master’s degree in Theater. Both are from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He has done additional graduate study in Communication, Theater, Education, and Law at the University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Western Michigan University, Ball State University, the University of Utah, Florida Atlantic University, Florida State University, and the University of Cambridge in England. Goodwyn recently completed College of the Canyons’ Associates Program. He also recently published his first book, Kinfolk: The True Story of An American Family.Goodwyn has appeared in films, commercials, music videos and theater productions and is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, the professional film and television actors’ union, Actors’ Equity Association., and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
