Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies
Todd Parker received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Studies from CSU, Northridge. Todd currently teaches Argumentation as well as Public Speaking at CSU, Northridge. He joined College of the Canyons part-time faculty in the summer of 2012. Todd’s areas of interest include Rhetorical Theory & Criticism, Intercultural, Interpersonal, and Organizational Communication.
Recently, Todd co-authored a research study published in the 2012 Howard Journal of Communication Special Edition highlighting Co-cultural Communication. This research was also presented at the 2012 NCA (National Communication Association) annual conference. Todd has a deep conviction for the philosophical foundations that animate Rhetorical Theory. Further, he is thoroughly convinced that skills and theory taught in Communication Studies are integral to both professional and personal success.
Prior to becoming a communication studies instructor, Todd spent a decade working in the music business as a Senior A&R Executive in addition to owning and operating his own indie label. Todd is married, has a new baby daughter, and an 8-year-old black Lab named Duke. Outside of the classroom, Todd enjoys snowboarding, music, getting lost in the woods, and hanging with his family at the beach. He lives by the motto, “Grow ‘til you die”!
