Meet some past students of the Field Studies Program at College of the Canyons |

Real field study, real nature, real experience, and real fun. Beats
anything learned through a book.

I
really enjoyed going to Camp Tahquitz and doing the field studies
for Biology 106. I learned a lot those two weekends and I would
really love to go again. I was able to focus more in a natural
environment and it was an even better experience to be able to learn
about Biology in nature. Lyz |

I enjoyed
participating in the field studies program
for many reasons. It is
a great hands on experience. Instead of just
seeing pictures of plants or insects we got to catch them, or pick
them, and classify them. It is as if you are a real scientist doing
experiments to learn more for yourself. It makes learning a lot more fun.
You also meet a lot of new people and have the chance to make new friends.

I learned
more in the field than through all the books and pictures of being
indoors can provide. Nature--the best classroom. Sandy |

Before the hands on learning I experienced in my BIOSCI 106 class
this semester I thought I would never find Biology exciting. The
time we spent in the mountains in the Bigbear area has changed all
that. I love Biology and will be definitely taking all the field
study classes that fit into my major. Justin |
