Pierre Etienne
Professor of French and Program Director
  • Native of La Rochelle, France.
  • B.A. in French and German, Middlebury College.
  • M.A. and Ph.D. program in French literature, Tufts University.
  • Professor Etienne has taught French Language and Francophone cultures and literatures at Tufts University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Puerto Rico, Golden West College, Mount San Antonio College, and El Camino College.

Myriam-Rose Kohn
Adjunct Instructor of French
  • Native of Belgium.
  • M.A. in French and B.A. in German.
  • Professor Kohn is an accredited translator through the American Translators Association as well as a registered interpreter for French and Dutch with the Judicial Council of California. She has served on the Board of the Southern California Translators and Interpreters Association (SCATIA) for over four years.  Ms. Kohn's articles on translation have been published nationally and she is often retained as a public speaker.

Caroline Ridenour
Adjunct Instructor of French
  • Native of Hamilton, Scotland.
  • B.A. in French Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and continued education at various summer institutes including U.C. Santa Barbara, U.C. Santa Cruz, the Université de Montréal at Chicoutimi (AATF Scholarship) and Old Dominion University (National Endowment for the Humanities Scholarship).
  • Professor Ridenour has been teaching French in the Los Angeles area for 19 years. She is a member of the AATF, ACTFL, CLTA, SWCOLT and was a member of the Board of Directors of SWCOLT from 1992- 2000.
