Debora Masterson
Professor of French, U.S.A


 
Debora Masterson was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley where she graduated from James Monroe High School.  With a double major in French and Dance, she studied at L’Institut Catholique de Paris and USIU (United States International University) in San Diego.  After a successful career in musical theater, she retired to start a family while teaching dance and fitness.  Later, she owned and operated a successful talent agency in Los Angeles representing crew and traveled the nation teaching communication skills as a corporate trainer before deciding to return to Cal State Northridge to complete her B.A. in French. Subsequently, she completed her M.A. in French as well as a Basic TESL/TEFL certificate at San Diego State University in 2012. While at SDSU, she revived the French club into a vibrant and active student organization and continues her community outreach with the local SFV French Language Meetup group. She is very excited to be a new adjunct professor of French at College of the Canyons.
