Mauricio Escruceria
Professor of Spanish, Colombia


 
Mauricio Escrucería is a native from Bogotá, Colombia.  After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano he arrived in Los Angeles back in 1979.  In 1983 he earned a technical certificate in Television and Cinematography Production at LAVC.  In the entertainment field Mauricio has produced commercials and radio spots for clients such as Disney, Universal Studios, Twentieth Century Fox, NBC, and ABC, to name a few.
 
He has been teaching at Pasadena City College since 2005 after earning his masters degree.  Mauricio enjoys writing screenplays.  He has written twelve. As an amateur musician, he has composed several jingles and two romantic songs.  In the literary field, he has written a collection of short stories entitled “Puros Cuentos”.  Twenty poems entitled “Poemas de Papel” and one novel — La Perra.
