American Welding Society (AWS)
College of the Canyons is an AWS SENSE affiliated institution for both the Entry Level and Advanced Welder programs. The college maintains both AWS Sustaining and Educational Memberships allowing faculty to maintain AWS Individual memberships. Faculty volunteers on various AWS technical committees and take part in AWS outside activities. College of the Canyons is an AWS Accredited Testing Facility (#60601) for conducting Welder Qualification testing.

Certified Educational Center (CEC)
College of the Canyons is of only a few educational institutions who are engaged in a mission to interest today’s young people in pursuing careers in the metal forming and fabricating industry. COC hosts the newly developed Fundamentals of Metal Fabrication certificate program in addition to providing specialty training to meet the needs of its local employer base. College of the Canyons offers summer camps under the FMA support Nuts, Bolts, and Thingamajigs program.
The robotic welding curriculum at College of the Canyons is aligned with the FANUC Robotics’ CERT Program allowing students to not only to learn about real world industrial automation, but also to prepare for it through the completion of three comprehensive lecture/lab courses.
HDE Technologies, Inc.
College of the Canyons has strong ties with HDE Technologies in the pursuit of training students and professionals in basic-to-advanced concepts of laser welding processing. HDE Technologies is working closely with faculty in the pursuit of COC becoming the first AWS Accredited Testing facilities that offers certification in laser welding.

Laser Star Technologies, Inc. continues to support College of the Canyons in its pursuit of developing one of the only community colleges in the nation to offer a robust and comprehensive training program in laser welding.

relationship with Lincoln Electric began over a decade ago. Since this
time, the on-going relationship has help foster a high-level of
technology and curriculum within the program that continues to expose
students to current edge training that aligns with industry needs.
National Center for Welding Education and Training (Weld-Ed) is a
dynamic partnership between business and industry, community and
technical colleges, universities, the American Welding Society, and
government. The center operates through funding support from the
National Science Foundation.
College of the Canyons works Weld-Ed as
one of its regional partners to improve the quality and quantity of
welding technicians to meet ongoing workforce needs.
