Jim Lorigan has been involved with fine art printmaking since 1972 and has been printing professionally since 1977. Originally from Ohio, he came to Southern California in 1966, enrolled in Fullerton College in 1968 before joining the Navy in 1969. He returned to college in 1972 and began working professionally as an artist. He also worked as an art restorer of 16th and 17th century Dutch art and antiques, and later became an apprentice printer at Spectrum Press in Orange, California.
In addition to his work as owner and Master Printer of Watermark Printmaking Workshop, Mr. Lorigan presently teaches printmaking and drawing fulltime at College of the Canyons, Santa Clarita, California. He has previously held teaching positions at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California, Cal State Fullerton, and University of California at Irvine. His drawings, paintings, and prints have been exhibited since 1972 in various museums and galleries in southern California, including the Laguna Art Museum, the Riverside Art Museum, and as far away as Tokyo, Japan.
