Subject: Portfolio Information

There is a big difference between “work” portfolios and a portfolio for admission into a university undergraduate or graduate program.

• The Work portfolio stresses a variety of skills--graphic abilities, drawing, computer programs, model building in a variety of materials. The office is interested in what skills the student has and how they might be of use in an office.

The grad school portfolio assumes a basic level of skills, and is focused on design and creative abilities--so here the applicant wants to show their design process, thinking, and ability to communicate design ideas. More on projects, less on graphics or cad drawings.
