The Reflection on Classroom Teaching (RCT)

The third step in the program is a “Reflection on Classroom Teaching.” During both of the above workshops, teachers are urged to explore and experiment with new skills and techniques. The Reflection on Classroom Teaching is an opportunity for feedback about the real-world application of those skills and techniques and a chance to learn through the reflective process.

Participants are asked to plan a lesson in cooperation with a faculty mentor. The lesson is based on the principles and techniques practiced in the workshops. The mentor observes the lesson in the classroom and provides the mentee with feedback. The mentee writes a reflective paper that is representative of the experiential learning that has occurred based on the process.
