Vogelsang Earns All-American Honors

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Freshman right fielder Cal Vogelsang has been named to the Southern California All-America team. The West Ranch alum was the only Cougar from the 2010 baseball team to earn the prestigious honor.

“Cal is very deserving of this award,” head coach Chris Cota said. “He worked very hard this season and was at the top of the state in some of the statistical categories. He was a reliable hitter and could always make something happen.”

The All-Western State Conference award winner was second on the team in batting average (.380) and was fourth in the state with 11 homeruns. He ranked ninth in the state with 102 total bases and 11th in California with a .718 slugging percentage.

The Cougars closed out the season with an overall record of 18-16 and posted a 12-9 conference mark, good for fourth place.
