SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Freshman forward Luis Fuentes had a hat trick on Sunday morning and Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) beat College of the Canyons 4-0 in the finals of the 2010 California Community College Men's Soccer State Championship. This is the second consecutive title for the Mounties after winning the state's top honor in 2009.

as the Cougars defeated Glendale 3-0. The scoring opened in the 62nd minute, when Jorge Serrano kicked the ball to the back of the net. The Cougars were able to add to their lead in the 72nd minute when Andres Bueno scored with the asssist from Rafael Fuentes. Two minutes later Marvin Delgado added COC's final scorewith an assist from Andres Bueno. The Cougars will travel to L.A. Mission on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game.

GLENDALE, Calif. - College of the Canyons and Glendale came to a draw on Tuesday night in their third conference game of the season. Artie Lawson, Rafa Fuentes and Andres Bueno all added goals for COC to help the team to a 4-3-2 record. The Cougars will return home on Friday, Oct. 8, for a 4 p.m. match.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons lost its first conference game of the season, falling to Allan Hancock 2-0. In a physical game, the Cougars were shutout for the first time this season. COC will travel to Glendale College on Tuesday, Oct. 5, for a 7 p.m. match under the lights.

between College of the Canyons and Santa Ana College, the Cougars could only score once and fell to the Dons 4-1. The Cougars received their lone goal from a penalty kick by Jorge Serrano in the 77th minute. Despite the Cougars outshooting the Dons 21-17 with 9-6 on goal, COC had trouble getting the ball into the back of the net. They will host Moorpark in their conference home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
9-7-10 COC Takes Care Of Business In First Real Test

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - In front of a loud crowd, College of the Canyons men's soccer team defeated 2009 state runner-up Taft College 2-1. The score did not dictate the amount of confusion that ensued after the blow of the official's whistle. Sophomore Andres Bueno netted a penalty kick in the 18th minute of the game to put COC up 1-0. COC built on its lead again in the 41st minute when Jesus Salazar made a kick in traffic, with an assist from Carlos Hernandez. Taft would score in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome COC's lead. In the final minutes of the game, Noe Ramirez picked up a red card. To make matters worse, after the final whistle was blown, COC's Jose Reyes and the Taft head coach were given red cards by the officials. COC will travel north to Santa Rosa College on Friday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m.
9-3-10 COC Improves to 2-0 After Win Over Chaffey
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - College of the Canyons men's soccer team downed Chaffey 3-1 in a non-conference match-up on Friday afternoon. Jorge Serrano and Artie Lawson scored the first two goals for Canyons in the first half, followed by a goal in the second half from Andres Bueno. Serrano and Bueno also notched assists in the match. Alex Burkevics picked up his second win of the year and had three saves in goal. COC will host state runner-up Taft College on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m.
8-27-10 Cougars Dominate Victor Valley In Season and Home Opener

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Freshman forward Noe Ramirez score two goals in the Cougars' season and home opener against Victor Valley on Friday night to lead the team to a 4-0 victory. Three different COC soccer players tallied goals in a total domination of visiting Victor Valley.
WSC Conference Player of the Year Andres Bueno broke through in the 31st minute, with the assist from Vicente Arredondo. COC doubled its lead in the 53rd minute as Chuey Salazar earned his first score of the year. The second half belonged to Ramirez who added two more scores, including one from 35-yards out. COC finished with 18 shots, putting 11 on net and Victor Valley had five shots, one on net. Alex Burkevics had one save in goal while playing the full 90 minutes. COC returns to action on Friday, Sept. 3, as they travel to Chaffey for a 4 p.m. match-up.
