11-5-10 Cougars Blanked By Santa Monica

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
College of the Canyons women's soccer team gave up a goal in the ninth minute of the game, to get blanked by visiting Santa Monica 1-0. Kristen Grunhold had eight saves in goal in the loss. COC returns to action on Tuesday as they take on Glendale.

10-29-10 Cougars Down Valley
L.A. Valley Box Score
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
Michelle Malette tallied a pair of goals and an assists to help Michigan State knock off L.A. Valley, 5-0, on Friday afternoon. The Cougars got on the board in the fourth minute when Malette kicked the Cougars' first goal of the day. Alyssa Triani gave COC its second goal unassisted in the 30th minute. Malette added her final goal in the 34th minute with an assist from Kristen Grunhold, in her second game as a forward. In the second half, Shannon Seidenglanz and Cayla White rounded out the scoring for COC. COC will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Citrus.

10-15-10 Women's Soccer Takes Care of Glendale

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
COC scored three times in the second half of Friday's game against Glendale and the Cougars went on to hold defeat the Vaqueros 3-0 in a conference game. Beth Barker opened up the scoring for COC in the 53rd minute on a penalty kick. In the 68th minute, Brittani Stumbo added her own goal, which was followed by Cayla White's score in the next minute. Emma Wright had one assist and goalie Kristen Grunhold had five saves in goal. COC will travel to Bakersfield on Tuesday.

10-8-10 COC Blanked By Citrus

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons women's soccer team was held scoreless on Friday afternoon by Citrus who scored one goal in the second period. Goalie Kristen Grunhold had three saves and gave up one score. The Cougars outshot the Owls 14-0, but didn't see one go the back of the net. COC will travel to Santa Monica on Tuesday, Oct. 12 for a 2 p.m. game.

10-5-10 COC Tallies Seven Goals, Again
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. -
For the second game in a row, College of the Canyons scored seven goals and shutout the L.A. Pierce College on Tuesday afternoon. COC scored six goals in the first half of the game and one in the second half to improve to 2-1 in conference. Alyssa Triana, Beth Baker, Dee Garcia and Cayla White got into the scoring action, while Danika Weber scored three goals by herself. COC will return home on Friday, Oct. 8, for a 2 p.m. match with L.A. Mission.

10-1-10 Canyons Score Seven Against L.A. Mission
SYLMAR, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons women's soccer team scored seven goals against L.A. Mission College, while holding L.A. Mission scoreless. Cayla White, Shannon Seideglanz, Michelle Malette, Ricky Nua and Emma Wright all got into the scoring action including two scores from Wright and Malette. The Cougars will travel to L.A. Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 5 for a 4 p.m. match.

9-28-10 Cougars Come Up Scoreless In Conference Home Opener

In the College of the Canyons conference home opener, the Cougars were blanked 1-0 by Pierce College. COC held Pierce scoreless until the 64th minute and received a huge boost from their goalie Kristen Grunhold who had nine saves. COC was outshot by Pierce 24-4 with Pierce taking 10 on goal and COC taking two shots on target. The Cougars will travel to L.A. Mission College on Friday, Oct. 1, at 1:30 p.m.

9-9-10 Cougars Play To Draw Against Cosumnes River

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
The College of the Canyons women's soccer posted a 1-1 draw against Cosumnes River College in its fourth non-conference game of the season. Freshman midfielder Beth Barker had the Cougars lone goal on a penalty kick in the 50th minute. Goalkeeper Brianna Plasencia played the entire game in goal and had six saves. COC will travel to Chaffey College on Tuesday, Sept. 14, for a 2 p.m. match-up.

9-4-10 Cougars Tie And Win One In Road Games
PLEASANT HILL, Calif. -
COC women's soccer tied 1-1 with De Anza College and won 2-0 against Diablo Valley College on this past trip. In the first game against De Anza scored early in the fourth minute and it wasn't until the 40th minuted that Michelle Malette got the ball into the back of the net. Beth Barker earned her first assist of the year on the goal. COC and De Anza would play to a draw, while keeper Kristen Grunhold had two saves on the day. In the second game of a two game trip, COC scored in the 62nd and 81st minute with scores from Emma Wrigth and Ricki Nua. Grunhold had a shutout and had four saves in goal. COC will host Cosumnes River College on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 5 p.m.

8-27-10 COC Opens Season With 1-0 Victory

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -
Sophomore Cayla White scored her first goal of the season as College of the Canyons defeated Victor Valley, 1-0. The only goal of the night came off COC's corner kick in the 2nd minute of the game. Goalie Kristen Grunhold had two saves in goals, and as a team COC out-shot the Rams 12-6. The Cougars will travel to De Anza College on Thursday, Sept. 2 for a 4 p.m. match-up.
