Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
Explosion or Downed Aircraft

In the event of an
explosion or a downed aircraft on campus, take the following action:
- Immediately take
cover under tables, desks or other objects which will give protection
against falling glass or debris.
- After the effects
on the explosion and/or fire have subsided, notify the Fire Department by
dialing 911 and Campus Safety at campus extension 3229. Give your
name and describe the nature and location of the emergency.
- If necessary, or
when directed to do so, activate the building alarms (see Alarms Section).
- When the building
evacuation alarm is sounded, or when told to leave by College officials,
walk quickly to the nearest marked exit and ask others to do the same.
- Assist physically
challenged persons to exit the building. Remember that elevators are
reserved for disabled persons use only during emergencies. Do not use
elevators in case of fire. Stay calm, do not panic.
- Once outside,
proceed to your designated evacuation assembly area (refer to Campus
Evacuation Maps) and remain until an “all clear” signal is given. It is
important to keep streets and walkways clear for emergency vehicles/crews.
Know your evacuation area.
If requested, assist
emergency crews as necessary; otherwise stay clear.
- Do not return to an
evacuated building until it has been established safe by a College official.
