The objective of the course allows each student to personally experience the ‘magic of animation’ through the joy of its creation.
The plots for each project will be developed by the participants immediately before their daily animation practice. The class will use animation as a medium, to create a ‘theater of the impossible’ performance - drawn, acted out, or sculpted live under a camera. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week the students will work in various animation techniques, such as shadow-puppet theater or paint on glass.
On Thursday and Friday the participants will be introduced to traditional character animation technique, where they will bring to life a creature of their own design.
Students will be presented with works by filmmakers from around the plant featuring experimental animation to introduce the imaginative richness of the animation medium.
Student art work will be available in a form of an animated short film, completed with music, a few days after the end of the program. The animation will become available for a download from an internet site for the delight of the participants.
