Free Electronic Mail Organizations

Popular e-mail service which requires access to the World Wide Web.  When you sign up for Hotmail, you are given a password to use at their website.  No e-mail program is required.  It allows you to send and receive e-mail through your web browser.  This is perfect for use in college or public libraries offering terminals but which do not yet offer student e-mail accounts.  It’s important to protect your e-mail privacy in these settings so that others can’t read your mail.  After checking your mail, click on the home button and then type in another url (website address) so the browser’s back and forward buttons will only toggle between these two sites.  Web-based e-mail is also great if you travel a lot.
Free e-mail from Google.
Free email from Yahoo! Same type of service as Hotmail above.
