Admissions and Records (A&R) processes admission applications, transcripts, enrollment verifications, prerequisite challenges, and grades. A&R also handles waitlists, add/drop class procedures and My Canyons.
Counseling provides educational, career, and personal counseling to students via consultations at the Drop-In Desk, private appointments, courses, and workshops. Counseling also handles petitions for graduation and certificates. For questions about what classes to take, and for help creating your educational plan, contact the Counseling Office.
The Financial Aid Office provides financial aid services such as fee waivers, grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study to students found eligible through the FAFSA application and/or the BOG fee waiver application.
The Library has tons of full-text online books and articles available to COC students. Your instructor should give you the username and password (changes each semester) so you can access the online databases. Please call the Library helpdesk for questions about these online databases. A COC student ID (available in the Student Development Office, Student Center room 102) is required to check out Print Reserves and Library materials.
The Student Business Office (SBO) is responsible for processing funds from students, sponsors, and other third parties for various payments such as tuition and registration fees, parking passes, library fines, transcripts and verifications and returned check fees. The SBO also handles refunds upon student request and distributes financial aid checks.
The Learning Center (TLC) offers tutoring in English, math, CIT, and many other subjects free of charge to COC students with a student ID card. TLC also offers online tutoring through Blackboard for students enrolled in online courses. Blackboard support is available in TLC or by calling 661-362-3344. In addition, test proctoring arrangements can be made through TLC by calling 661-362-3194.
