I am in Blackboard, and
I don’t see my class listed, or it says “no
courses found.” What do I do?
How do I send files to
my instructor?
Your
instructor will tell you how to submit your
assignments. Some will prefer them sent as an
attachment to an email. Others will insist that
you send the assignments via digital dropbox on
the Blackboard website. The digital dropbox is
located in the TOOLS section.
When using the digital
dropbox, do I have to send the assignment as an
attachment, or can I cut-and-paste my
assignment into the Comments box?
You will
have previously saved the assignment as a file.
Attach it in the appropriate space. The Comments
box is for adding a description of the file.
How does the instructor
read the files in my digital dropbox?
Your
instructor
cannot read the
files that are
in your digital dropbox. If you have “added” the files, they are
there for your eyes only. You must “send” the
files to your instructor for him/her to be able
to read them.
First, make sure you are
registered in the class. You may
do this online or by contacting
Admissions and Records or your
instructor. Although many
courses are available on the
first day of the semester,
instructors may have chosen
another date to begin the class.
Check the online class schedule
to find the first day of class.
If you know you are in the
course, and it still does not
appear online, please contact
your instructor. In rare
circumstances the class has not
been made available to students,
and your instructor must “open”
the class.
There is a chance your course is
not being offered in Blackboard.
Please read your instructor’s
course description Some instructors use CourseCompass,
ETUDES, or programs on CD. The
information should be in the
course description.
If you have forgotten your password
you will have to contact your instructor to have
it changed. They will re-set it to “student” or
to another word decided upon. Then follow the
directions above to change the word to something
you will remember.
