Library Associates

Established in 1993, the Library Associates supports books, reading and high-quality library services at the College of the Canyons Library. The group plans high-caliber events, relevant field trips and other fund-raising activities that help to enrich the programs and services of the Library. The Library provides all types of instructional materials for use by our students, college staff and community. While providing valuable support to the Library, members of the Library Associates also receive valuable benefits including a tax deduction for all gifts.

Books & Ideas

Books & Ideas is a Flex activity which provides a forum for the College community to discuss books (both fiction and non-fiction). Books & Ideas sessions are held six times a year (twice in Spring and Fall Semester and once in Winter Session and Summer Session). Anyone can suggest a book at one of the sessions and the group will decide whether or not to read the suggested title. The titles chosen will be announced early in the semester, providing sufficient time for faculty, staff, students and community members to read the selections. The person who selected the title will give a brief critique and then lead a discussion.
