Dr. Alfred Konuwa
Dr. Konuwa is vice president of academic and student services at Woodland Community College. Prior to assuming his current position, he was dean of business and social sciences at Butte College in Oroville, Calif. He also served as dean of instructional services and accreditation liaison officer at Butte College. He began his academic career as an adjunct instructor of economics at the University of Liberia. He taught economics and business at Butte College, and African studies and economics at California State University in Chico. A native of Liberia, he was that country’s deputy director of civil service before immigrating to the United States in the early 1980s. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Liberia, master’s degrees in economics and public administration from California State University at Sacramento, and a doctorate in public administration from the School of Policy and Planning at the University of Southern California.
