Ms. Mary Okada
Ms. Okada, Guam Community College’s (GCC) first woman president, took the helm as president/CEO in 2007. Prior to this, she was vice president of financial affairs, controller and general accounting supervisor at GCC. In addition to her service at GCC, she held the position of comptroller with the Guam Public School System, finance manager with Pacific Western Enterprises, and various financial positions with PayLess Markets Inc. She is a member of organizations such as the Asian Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies, the Pacific Postsecondary Education Council and the Civilian/Military Task Force for Education and Labor. Through these organizations, she aggressively advocates the development and growth of career and technical education for the citizens of Guam and neighboring islands of Micronesia. She has a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting and management, and a master's degree in public administration -- both from the University of Guam. She is currently a doctoral student in educational leadership at the University of Phoenix.
