Los Lobos in Concert
Los Lobos broke into the mainstream music scene with their stirring rendition of the Richie Valens classic “La Bamba” for the big-screen movie, but began in 1973 as Los Lobos Del Este Los Angeles, and have evolved into a respected artistic entity searching for themes and topics that are an interpretive pulse of our times. Using musical molds built on the blues, rockabilly, jazz, Latin and their own Mexican-American heritage, Los Lobos have never beat their fans over the head with politics or agendas. Instead, they subtly challenge them with conscience-raising songs and thought-provoking lyrics. As Rolling Stone put it: “With the exception of U2, no other band has stayed on top of its game as long as Los Lobos.”
