Important Notice

Two separate incidents involving female students occurred Wednesday around the Valencia Campus. We are asking for your help in providing any information about these events, and reminding students to be pro-active about personal safety.

ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING

A female student was walking along Rockwell Canyon Road from College of the Canyons toward CalArts around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. A man walking the opposite direction approached her and tried to hand her a flyer. She did not take the flyer and did not pay attention to what he was saying.

Suddenly a blue four-door Nissan Altima with tinted windows pulled to the curb, and the man grabbed the student in a “bear hug” hold. The student kneed the man twice in the groin. The man then released her, entered the car, and sped away southbound on Rockwell.
