College of the Canyons to Cut Ribbon at New Culinary Arts Center
 
Subject: The Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees and Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially unveil the new College of the Canyons Institute for Culinary Education (iCuE).

Event: Join us for a ribbon-cutting and open house, followed by tours of the new state-of-the-art culinary learning center. The center includes a demonstration kitchen, savory kitchen, sweets kitchen, banquet kitchen, chocolate room, wine studies classroom, herb garden, faculty offices, retail shop and more. At a cost of approximately $8 million, the roughly 12,000-square-foot iCuE has been entirely district-funded, paid for through a combination of private donations and Measure M bond funds (the $160 million general obligation bond measure passed by Santa Clarita Valley voters in 2006) that were remaining after completion of the college’s recent Library/TLC expansion project. The iCuE facility is the final permanent building included in the Valencia campus facilities master plan.
