College to Host Student/Business Networking Event Nov. 19

Subject: The College of the Canyons Job & Career Center and COC Associated Student Government (ASG) will host the 2015 ‘Link to Your Future’ Networking Event providing business students at the college with an opportunity to mingle with professionals from the Santa Clarita Valley business community.

Event: In response to ongoing requests received from local business and organizations in search of employees with superb “soft skills,” the COC Job & Career Center and ASG have partnered to host a networking mixer that will bring students from the COC business department together with business professionals from a variety of entities and organizations.

Thursday’s event will afford students the chance to meet, mingle and connect with local business professionals as a means to begin developing the communication, language, interpersonal and leadership skills that are often essential attributes in today’s workplace.

In all, more than 700 COC business students were invited to attend the event, with the first 60 students to RSVP guaranteed a spot at the event.

Included among the 15 local employers invited to take part in the event are the City of Santa Clarita, Princess Cruises, the SCV Economic Development Corporation, Bank of Santa Clarita, Ameriprise Financial and College of the Canyons.

Time: 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015
