Music Department Presents Annual Holiday Jazz Concert on Dec. 4

The College of the Canyons Music Department’s award-winning Studio Jazz Ensemble and Lab Bands will present its Annual Holiday Jazz Band Concert featuring live performances of several beloved holiday tunes.

The concert is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, on the main stage of the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.

Providing a fun and festive beginning to the holiday season, the bands will perform holiday favorites such as “O Holy Night,” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “Silver Bells,” “Feliz Navidad.” The ensemble will perform under the direction of music director K.C. Manji.

Special guest vocalist Katherine Lench-Meyering will lend her vocal stylings to the performance, along with an original holiday song she helped compose.

Also performing with the band will be accompanists Jeff Takiguchi and Mike Saul, as well as assistant Rob Rudolph.

“I think our performance helps get folks in the proper mood to celebrate the approaching holidays,” Manji said. “They always seems to leave the PAC humming their favorite tunes of the evening.” The audience is encouraged to sing along with the bands, she said.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for COC students and senior citizens.
