Salaries in the Cyber / Information Security fields

In an article posted by Cisco (in the Cisco Learning Network) Dated June 23, 2017, salaries from 13 countries for technology positions were noted. From the article, the U.S. Salaries are posted below.

United States

We wrap up our tour of salaries around the world with a look at the United States, where cloud, big data, mobility, and security are at the top of many organizations' to-do lists, according to the Robert Half Guide for North America. Healthcare and financial services are projected to be furious areas for job growth in the years ahead.

Cyber Studies involves both Cyber Security and Computer Forensics.

  • Cyber Security is also commonly referred to as Information Technology Security and has the primary focus on protecting computer systems, networks, computer programs and data from unauthorized and unintended access, modification or destruction. Organizations, governments and businesses use Computer Security professionals to protect their data and information resources. Further, Computer Security professionals are active in keeping up-to-date with trends and techniques used by hackers to gain illegal access.
  • Computer Forensics is the application of tools and techniques to investigate crime and the tools used in the commision of a crime (cell phones, tablets, computers, etc.). A Computer Forensics investigator gathers and preserves evidence in a manner suitable for presentation in a court of law.

Cyber Security and Computer Forensics are related fields and will be offered in the Cyber Studies area.
