Organization Description - The mission of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ventura County, Inc. is to improve the lives of children by creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships with proven results.
Volunteer Opportunities - Interviewing new recruits; shadowing case workers; assisting with school-based mentor program that works with students K-12; assist students with homework, social skills, and goal setting, while creating meaningful friendships.

Volunteer Opportunities - Helping supervise activities with children, prepping projects or activity plans, assisting with snack bar, membership sign in and out, some cleaning & filing

Additional Comments - Background checks are required for all volunteers ($10 fee). Upon passing the background check they will be called in for a short interview and be given an intern job description packet.
Dress code includes jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes. No open toed shoes, no spaghetti strap or revealing shirts, no torn or tattered jeans and no vulgar writing on any part of the clothing. We also do not allow big earrings or facial piercings of any kind.

·         Games Room Volunteer: Lead games for youth 7-12 years old.
·         Homework Tutor: Assist youth 7-17 with homework 2pm-5pm Monday-Thursday
·         Gym Assistant: Help coach, referee, score keep, and manage sports leagues
·         Closing Volunteer: Help with daily clean-up such as vacuuming, mopping, and taking out the trash. 5pm-7pm Monday-Friday
