Organization Description The Los Angeles Residential Community Foundation helps developmentally disabled adults thrive. To achieve this goal, they provide the following services:
  • 14 Residential Care Homes, including 3 homes for the elderly
  • An Adult Developmental Center specializing in accommodating  more Challenged Adults
  • A day training activity center specializing in work related training and opportunities
    Volunteer Opportunities Education, recreation, socialization. Students will work with the residents in the day programs:  daily living skills, games, current events, and sports activities; fundraising events.

    Organization Description Dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. Mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
    Volunteer Opportunities Opportunities include in-office volunteering, day of event volunteering, and pre-event volunteering. Such duties include: fundraising, educational outreach, data entry, assist with mailings and service/support events on campus and in the community.

    Additional Comments Each volunteer must complete a background check before starting any volunteer work. There is no charge for this requirement.

    A 15 minute orientation with site manager or deputy to explain what is needed and Expected. This is done any day prior to starting.

    Clothing must be appropriate for working with children, ie. No sexually suggestive clothing or sagging pants.

    Volunteers should have an interest in working with youth.
