Q: I need to take a test for my online class. What do I need to do?
A: Students who are enrolled in online/hybrid classes at COC need to make prior arrangements to take exams in TLC at the Valencia campus by making an appointment (click here) well in advance of their testing date. It is strongly encouraged that students make arrangements to take their exam as soon as possible to ensure a guaranteed appointment time; when no additional appointment times are available or if students arrive late to their scheduled appointment time, they will be placed on a waitlist and may not be able to take their exam until space becomes available. Because students have a scheduled appointment, they should take travel time and parking limitations into consideration, ensuring their on- time arrival. Once students have arrived for their exam appointment, they should be prepared to provide a government issued identification and to leave all personal belongings in lockers at the testing reception area; only testing materials specified by the instructor will be allowed into the testing facility. Q: Can I take my test at CCC?
A: The CCC Testing room is open for make-up exams and DSPS students Monday through Thursday from 9am-6pm during Spring and Fall ONLY. Exams for online classes cannot be accommodated at CCC. Please see TLC testing information page.
Q: Can I take my test at another location?
A: If you wish to have your COC exam proctored at another institution, please allow 7-10 business days for processing of arrangements. It is the student's responsibility to find a proctor and provide COC staff with the name, organization, phone, fax, and email address of the proposed proctor. Please call 661-362-3194 or email TLCTestProctor@Canyons.edu to begin the process. Student Athlete Hours
Q: I am student athlete and need to know how many hours I have accumulated.
A: Student athlete hours are reported to coaching staff each Monday for activity the prior week. Once you have checked with your coach, if you have questions regarding your hours, please contact Kimberly.Haglund@Canyons.edu
Q: My instructor requires me to complete a GLA. What is that?
GLAs (Guided Learning Activities) are part of the Supplemental Learning program at COC. These activities are completed in The Learning Center during designated hours, are individual and self-paced activities, and are reviewed by a tutor when done. Parking at COC
Q: Where do I park?
A: There are multiple lots on the COC campus; however, lot 15 at the South entrance off Rockwell is closest to TLC and library. When coming to TLC for an exam or for tutoring, keep in mind that parking is impacted, so arrive in plenty of time. Please review the campus map as well as further parking information for day passes and other regulations. The Learning Center is located adjacent to the Library in LTLC-126 on the Valencia campus and 306 on the Canyon Country Campus.

Q: Do I need to make an appointment to see a tutor?
A: No. All tutoring is a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis. Math, English/Writing, and Computer tutoring is available during all hours of operation at both campuses, and hours for tutoring in other subjects can be found on the TLC Tutoring page.
Q: Can I get tutoring in subjects other than Math, English, and Computers?
A: Yes. During limited hours, tutoring is available in many subject areas, including: Biology, Chemistry, Accounting/Business Math, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, ASL, French, German, Spanish, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and CIT/Computer Neworking.
