What is Supplemental Learning (SL)? 

Supplemental Learning is a set of learning activities you can participate in on  your own to improve your learning. Supplemental Learning activities have a variety of formats to meet your needs:
  • Workshops -- Presentations and activities led by faculty
  • Study/Practice Jams -- Additional practice activities led by tutors
  • Guided Learning Activities (GLAs) -- Computer tutorials completed independently by the student and reviewed with a tutor
  • THE LAST DAY FOR STUDENTS TO COMPLETE SUPPLEMENTAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES (WORKSHOPS AND GLAS) FOR SPRING 2014 WILL BE SATURDAY, JUNE 1ST AT THE VALENCIA CAMPUS AND THURSDAY, MAY 29TH AT THE CANYON COUNTRY CAMPUS.

 

Students completing Supplemental Learning Activities had a 10% higher success rate across the disciplines, a 21% higher success rate in Math, and a 49% higher success rate in English courses.

Instructor notification of attendance:  Reports are sent to instructors each Monday for activities completed the prior week.  Please check with your instructor for verification of attendance; also, retain your stamped handout materials, and don't forget to bring your instructor's checklist that provides space for stamping and verification.

Workshop Location:  LTLC-146 (TLC Room 146- Valencia Campus)

GLA and Workshop Location: Room 308 (Canyon Country Campus)


GLA Hours: Spring 2014 
(February 17th through May 31st) 
   
Valencia Campus:  Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm and Friday/Saturday 9am-1pm
Canyon Country Campus:  Monday through Thursday, 9am-5pm

PLEASE ARRIVE 10 TO 15 MINUTES EARLY IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE SIGN-IN PROCESS. LATE ADMITTANCE IS NOT PERMITTED. ​
