The deadline to submit the FAFSA is March 2nd.
Remember to update the FAFSA with 2013 tax information if you applied using
2012 tax information.
Campus Portals/Admissions Correspondence: It is
important that you check your email for admissions correspondence and log-in to
campus portals on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to comply
with admission requests by the deadlines you are given and submit required
Missing deadlines can jeopardize your admission. If you
need assistance navigating student portals please contact your UB counselor.
English Placement Test (EPT) and Entry Level Math
(ELM): The CSU requires you to take the English Placement
Test (EPT) and the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam prior to enrollment in
the CSU (unless you are exempt). Please talk to your UB counselor to determine
if you are exempt. You can check your EAP status at http://www.csusuccess.org/eap_results. The EPT
and the ELM are not admission tests; they only determine eligibility to enroll
in college level courses. To register for these tests go to: https://ept-elm.ets.org/CSU/. Remember you must pay for the exams ($18 each/$36 for both) to be
considered registered. These exams must be taken by May 2014
for most CSU’s.
Housing: If you
are interested in living in university housing, now is the time to begin
working on housing applications. UB advisors are available to assist you with
housing applications and answer any questions regarding residential life.
Sports: All students who plan to play collegiate-level sports must complete an
NCAA Eligibility Center application. For the application, go to http://web1.ncaa.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.jsp.
There is a fee for the application, so don’t forget to apply for a fee waiver.

Many of you have already started receiving letters of acceptance from various
institutions. Please share a copy of those letters with your UB
Counselor; they are needed for your file.
