Upward Bound Application and Forms

To prospective applicants and parent/guardian(s):

Thank you for your interest in Upward Bound. You have made a wise decision to seek admission to the Upward Bound Program. Your interest in Upward Bound means that you would like to attend college after you graduate from high school. Graduation from high school and college are significant accomplishments for you, your family and your community.  Upward Bound can help you with your academic work, assist you in gaining college admissions, and prepare you for a successful future.

The College of the Canyons TRiO Upward Bound Program is a federally funded educational program that is designed to assist high school students who have the ability and desire to go on to college. Upward Bound gives high school students opportunities to learn first-hand what college life is all about and helps the student to develop those skills necessary to graduate from college. The program emphasizes reading, writing, math, science, foreign language and study skills. Courses are taught by skilled instructors whose primary concern is student success. The program also provides opportunities for personal, social and cultural enrichment.

As you can imagine, many students are interested in the Upward Bound Program.  Unfortunately, we can only accept a limited number of students. We mention this not to scare you away, but rather to let you know how important it is to complete the application in a way that will give us a good idea of who you are and what you think your academic and personal needs are.

As you start the application paperwork, please carefully review the information that is asked and feel free to contact the Upward Bound office at 661.362.3329 or email: upwardbound@canyons.edu  if you need assistance or have any questions.
