​18th Annual Student Art Exhibition

The Art Gallery hosts the18th annual Student Art Exhibition through June 12. Featuring a wide representation of work from students studying painting, drawing, figure drawing, 2D design, 3D design, graphic design, photography, animation and media entertainment arts students, this annual exhibition represents the tremendous wealth of our students’ creative talent. As part of the college’s ongoing Student Art Collection project, four chosen works from the exhibition will eventually become part of the college’s permanent visual art collection, spanning all disciplines, and displayed at both campuses. ​'Meet the Grant Makers' on June 5

The Office of Grants Development will host its 10th annual "Meet the Grant Makers" panel presentation and seminar, offering Santa Clarita Valley’s non-profits an opportunity to learn how to enhance their fundraising efforts.The event is scheduled 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 5, in the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, Room 258. Featured panel speakers include Adrienne Wittenberg, grant director, S. Mark Taper Foundation; Gabrielle Burkard, program officer, S. Mark Taper Foundation; and Denise Tom, program director, health care, California Community Foundation. Move 'Beyond Barriers' at Women's Conference

The annual College of the Canyons Women’s Conference returns this summer with a lineup of inspiring presenters and empowering breakout sessions designed to help attendees reach beyond the barriers faced throughout their lives and achieve their dreams. Focusing on the variety of personality traits and lifestyle attributes that often lead to professional success and personal satisfaction, the conference will focus on:

Keynote speaker is Kamala Lopez (right), an award-winning actress, filmmaker and executive director of the ERA Education Project. The conference is scheduled 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center.
