Students that have been dismissed from the college for academic or progress reasons are required to leave the school for a minimum of one semester. However, dismissed students may continue attending College of the Canyons if they complete a free one-day intensive workshop.

During this workshop, students will:

  • Review their academic records
  • Identify their career interests, learning styles, and career goals
  • Learn time management and study strategies
  • Develop problem-solving skills
  • Establish an action plan to achieve sound educational goals
  • Develop a support network

The workshop begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:30 PM. The time and location of the workshop will be posted on the Intensive workshop sign up web page. All meals and necessary materials will be provided for students. There is no fee for attending this workshop. Students may enroll online or by visiting the Counseling Office in room 101 of the Administration & Admissions Building.

Students that are on “Academic Subject to Dismissal” or have previously taken an intensive workshop will be ineligible to enroll and should visit the Counseling Office to discuss other options.
