Tips for Class Implementation of

the 15 College Success Tips

1. Project the tip of the week on the board prior to the start of class for students to notice as they settle in for instruction.

2. Take five minutes to discuss the tip of the week with students, including highlights of the website and links within the tip.

3. Refer students in your syllabus to the 15 College Success Tips link on the main COC home page, and encourage them to take advantage of all study strategies and student services at College of the Canyons.

4. Share personal experiences that underscore the importance and relevance of the tip of the week.

5. Assign students to take notes on the tip of the week.

6. Ask students to work in pairs or small groups to discuss a couple of useful ways to incorporate each tip into their lives.

7. Offer extra-credit to students who take advantage of tips (like obtaining a Student Educational Plan, attending workshops, etc.).
