Amy Green, originally from Ohio, received her BFA
in painting at the University of Tennessee, then moved to Los Angeles in 1995
and received her MFA at California Institute of the Arts.
She currently teaches at College of the Canyons and works in the
education department at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
Her paintings, sculptures and installations have been shown in Los Angeles, San
Diego, New York, Cologne, Germany, Frankfurt, and Switzerland.
She has exhibited her paintings at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions
(LACE), Susanne Vielmetter of LA Projects, and Rolf Ricke Galerie.
She specializes in abstract painting using plastic castings, urethane rubber and
acrylic paints. Her work blurs the
boundary between painting, sculpture and installation. Her work will be on
view in the fall of 2003 at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
