Course Title: The Stellar System

Attendance:- The student is responsible for attending every class meeting. Unexcused absences in excess of 3 may result
in either a drop from the course, or a final grade of F, if the drop deadline has passed.Students are responsible for notifying the office of Admissions and Records if they intend to drop out of class.
No Exceptions:- No makeups are allowed. However, your lowest test score will be dropped.
- No late homework except for that associated with a missed test, in which case it is due on the first day that the student returns to class. Label exercises by set number, and folders by class period.
- Separate homework folder required. No ring binders. No spiral notebooks. Label exercises by set number, and folders by class period. Keep all homework in the folder with the most current on top.
- Excessive talking in class will result in expulsion.
- No tests will be distributed after the first student has left the classroom. Don't be late.
- Multiple test pages must be stapled.
- No test or homework scores will be changed after the period in which they were distributed.
- No course grades will be changed after submission except in the case of clerical error.
- Save all tests and homework, in case of dispute.
- Students must reconcile all grades, if desired, before the Final Exam day.
- No Incompletes will be given except under extenuating circumstances near the end of the semester.
- Grades will be available only through the Star system, online, or by transcript.
Tests: There will be a total of 4 tests and a comprehensive Final Exam throughout the semester. Test 1 Chapters 1-6;
Test 2 Chapters 17-20; Test 3 Chapters 21-24; Test 4 Chapters 25-27. The test dates will be announced in class.
Homework: "Homework has been assigned for each chapter. Homework will be collected each test period during the semester.
Final Exam: The Final Exam is required.
Missing the Final Exam may result in a failing course grade.
Grade: Final course grade will be based on the
test and Final scores (90%), homework scores (10%). The grade will be based only on these elements. No extra credit is available.
Grading Scale:- A = 90 < Average < 100

B = 80 < Average < 90

C = 70 < Average < 80

D = 60 < Average < 70

F = Average < 60
