National Registry EMT Exam
The National
Registry EMT Exam is computer based testing. Candidates for the exam register with www.nremt.org Once your
EMT school has verified that you qualify to take the exam, NREMT will then
issue a candidate ID number and further instructions. The computer based
exam will be given at PearsonVue testing sites.
College of the Canyons is NOT a testing site!
Please check the National Registry website for
further instructions.
If you are a former COC student registering to take the National Registry exam, please
email your name, date of completion and contact information to the COC EMT
Program Director, Patti Haley.

will be included in the exam.

Pulse oximetry / ATV / Humidified oxygen / Partial rebreather mask, simple face
mask, Venturi mask, tracheostomy mask / Mechanical CPR device / Hemorrhage
control (direct/tourniquet) / Oral aspirin /Assisting patients w/self medication

National Registry Recertification
NREMT recertification has different requirements than Los
Angeles County or the State of California. All NREMT certs expire March 31st,
two years after your initial certification. Current requirements
include 72 hours of continuing education and a skills exam. Please check their
website for specifics. www.nremt.org
