We will offer a class during Winter intersession. Please

EMT Program
Spring 2010
Currently the Spring schedule is
under construction.
Health Science 045 will be offered during Spring semester.
It is STRONGLY recommended that the student successfully complete
Health Science 045 prior to enrolling in Health Science 151.
Health Science 051 (American Heart Association
Healthcare Provider (CPR) will not be offered during the Spring
semester.
The EMT program accepts one of the following CPR
cards only! American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card
(preferred) or
American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card.
Health Science 151 - (EMT class) will be offered during
Spring semester. Expectation of all students - a minimum of 15-20
hours of outside study per week.
Monday/Wednesday classes will start February 8,
2010. Tuesday/Thursday classes will start February 9, 2010.
Our course requires a background check, physical,
titers, immunizations, tetanus shot, TB test and uniform. Our uniform
includes – white polo shirt,
white t-shirt, black or navy blue dickies or BDUs, black boots or shoes,
plain belt. You are also required to purchase a safety vest – available
in our bookstore. (The vest is a new Federal regulation) There is a 12
hour
ridealong and 8 hour ER clinical component that must be accomplished outside of
class time.
Health Science 153 -
(EMT Refresher) will not be offered during the Spring 2010 semester. Please check the Los Angeles County EMS Agency
website for a list of approved Refresher Courses offered in L.A. County.
