Writing Matters

COC's English Department is proud to announce the second annual Student Writing Conference, titled "Writing Matters," which will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the University Center.

This conference provides students a unique opportunity to read and discuss writing in a positive and constructive environment.

The event will begin with a keynote presentation by novelist and professor Melvin Donalson in UCEN 258 @ 9:30 am.  Light snacks will be provided.  [Click on this link to view a transcript of Melvin Donalson's keynote presentation.]

Also, on Tuesday, May 7th we will be having a "Writing in the Workplace" panel comprised of business professionals who will discuss writing as a marketable skill in the workplace. The event will be held in Aliso Hall 104 from 12:30 - 1:50 pm.
