Online Courses
The English department offers composition classes and literature classes online each term. Check the class schedule for current offerings.
In general, you should expect to spend the same amount of time on an online class as you do for a class that meets in person – the key difference is that the time of day that you complete your class work is much more flexible in an online class.
Students who do well in online classes tend to have the following qualities:
- They are self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines
- They have strong reading and writing skills
- They are comfortable with technology and have regular access to a computer with an internet connection
If you are wondering whether an online class is right for you, here are a few self-assessments that may help you with your decision: http://www.canyons.edu/offices/distance_learning/info/Assessments.asp
