What IS Geography? Geography is a broad descriptive science dealing with the surface of the Earth, its divisions into continents, countries, and regions, and the climate, plants, animals, natural resources, inhabitants, cultures and industries of the various divisions. Geography courses undertaken at the College of the Canyons prepare students for transfer to colleges and universities with undergraduate programs in Geography that may lead to graduate degrees in the field and subsequent employment in a myriad of professional specialties like environmental geography, geomorphology, climatology, cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), cultural, and human geography. |
