Coach Robert dos Remedios has been involved in strength and conditioning for over 19 years. After completing his competitive football career at the University of California, Berkeley in 1988, he began training athletes on a full-time basis. "Coach Dos" has a masters degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics from California State University, Northridge and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the NSCA since 1990.
Coach Dos is a sought after international speaker on a variety of conditioning topics such as Olympic Weightlifting applications, Sport-speed development, Explosive training, Program Design, Cardio Strength Training and CHAOSTM Speed Training which he developed with Jim Liston. Coach Dos serves as Director of Speed, Strength & Conditioning @ College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, CA, a position he has held since 1999.
Coach Dos is also two-time best-selling author with his books Men's Health Power Training and Cardio Strength Training (both published by Rodale Books) and a consultant to college and professional sport teams and companies such as TRX and Hyperwear.
Coach Dos is also the 2006 recipient of the National Strength and Conditioning's prestigious Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Professional of the year for 2006. This award is given to the top collegiate strength coach in the country (as voted on by his peers). 

Joel Gunterman  is in his 2nd year as assistant strength and conditioning coach. Joel is also an assistant coach for our men's soccer teams. Joel is a former COC athlete who graduated with a degree in Athletic Training from Kansas Wesleyan and a masters degree in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University where he served as a graduate assistant working with men's soccer, softball, tennis, swimming.

 

2011 Intern Ryan Sellz. Ryan comes to us from down the road at CSUN. Ryan graduates this May (2011) with his BS degree in Kinesiology. Ryan is an NSCA-CPT certified trainer and will sit for his CSCS exam this summer. Ryan is a great addition to our staff this year as he helps with ALL of our athletic teams. (it's a good thing Ryan is small as our KB's only go up to 70lbs HAHA!)
