Online courses require that students have access to a computer with modem and a World Wide Web browser such as Internet explorer or Netscape navigator. Students will communicate with their instructor via w-mail and will need to use an Internet service provider such as Earthlink or AOL There may be an on-campus orientation session which is mandatory and sometimes on-campus testing. CHEMISTRY ONLINE
The Chemistry Department at College of the Canyons will offer two chemistry classes online during thefall semester. The lecture portion of these courses will be delivered through a combination of Internet and CD-ROM technology. The classes will beet on campus one day per week [Friday] for recitations, discussions and laboratory sessions. Both classes will use the Archipelago CD-ROMs and online lectures via the Internet. Students must have access to a multi-media computer with Internet connection either at home or on campus.
