About the program

The Program

The program is designed to provide a near-total immersion into Spanish language and culture for everyone from beginners to more experienced Spanish speakers.

Classes and activities have been structured to provide relevant training for teachers who need a second language requirement for CLAD; for nurses and emergency services personnel; for students who want to enhance their skills; and for community members wishing to learn more about Spanish language and culture.

Classes in these core sessions are offered from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Each class offers two (2)units.

Cultural Seminars

Courses on Latin America or Peninsular Culture and Civilization are offered in the afternoon.   Each course is one (1) unit. 

Specialized courses

Spanish for teachers; medical professions and a language and culture course are offered from 4-6:40p.m. each day.  They are each one (1) unit.

Conversational mini-courses

Students may also earn up to .25 credits for completion of optional activities tailored specifically by instructors each day during the lunch hour.
