Dissertation:  The Role of Corticotropin Releasing Hormone (CRH) and Neurotensin in the Generation of Dehydration Induced Anorexia.  
"It studies the possible role of two neuropeptides in decreasing food intake when an animal is dehydrated.   I examined the two peptides' mRNA and peptide levels during dehydration and well as the distribution and regulation of the CRH receptor during dehydration."

While completing her doctorate, Cynthia also worked as a neurological research surgeon.  When not doing research or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband, scuba, travel, geology, and spoiling her dogs.
